Windows 10 was successfully run on the Apple iPad Pro equipped with the M1 chip!

A number of Microsoft Windows 10 enthusiasts managed to launch this operating system on the Apple iPad Pro tablet equipped with the M1 chip. After launching Microsoft’s operating system on Apple’s tablet, these people performed the Geekbench benchmark test on this gadget. As a result, iPad Pro scored 1522 and 5073 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core processing tests, respectively. These scores are equivalent to approximately 90 and 70 percent of the device’s performance with Apple’s native operating system, respectively.

It is worth mentioning that in this scenario, Windows 10 is not installed on the iPad Pro and a virtual machine called UTM is used to run this operating system on the Apple tablet. This machine is based on QEMU technology and allows users to run Windows or Linux operating systems on their iPhone or iPad without jailbreaking the device. This program is now also compatible with macOS.

According to the official information provided by UTM, this virtual machine is compatible with more than 30 different processors including x86_64, AMR64 and RISC-V. In addition, this machine supports other architectures that support iOS 11 and newer versions of Apple’s mobile operating system. At the same time, this virtual machine supports keyboard, mouse, touchpad, Apple Pencil, gamepad and other devices.
