A few months have passed since the release of the latest firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy A51, and now it’s time to make some changes. Samsung recently started rolling out a new update for the Galaxy A51, and now the 2019 mid-range handset is receiving a new security patch.

Although Samsung has released the October 2022 security patch for some of its gadgets; But Galaxy A51 has no place in this spectrum. Instead, this mid-range phone is now receiving the September 2022 security patch. Currently, this update is only available in Russia and for devices with model number SM-A515F.

This update has firmware version number A515FXXS5FVI1 and according to the structure of the firmware ID, it can be assumed that the new update only includes a newer security patch and does not contain any new features. Therefore, users should not wait for the release of a new feature. However, security is not a category that can be ignored; Especially since the mentioned update is specific to an old mid-range phone released in 2019.

The September security patch fixes more than 20 vulnerabilities, including memory access errors in various functions. Additionally, a bug that allowed attackers to make remote emergency calls has also been fixed. It is expected that this update will soon be available in more countries and for more diverse models.

Galaxy A51 users in selected markets can manually download and install the new firmware by going to the phone’s settings menu, selecting the Software update option, and then touching the Download and install button. Also, Galaxy A51 users, if they wish, can download the official firmware file from the Internet and then manually flash it on their handset using Samsung’s ODIN tool and a Windows PC.
