The new Sony Xperia Pro model with improved camera sensors is coming

Sony will host an event focused on gaming on Monday. Also, the Japanese giant will probably unveil a new smartphone during this event. However, recent rumors indicate plans to introduce another product during November. This product will probably be the second generation of Xperia Pro-I photography oriented smartphone.

According to reports, Sony will launch this smartphone with 3 camera sensors. All these cameras use new and improved sensors with a resolution of 48 megapixels. In addition, one of these cameras will have a variable aperture in the f/1.2 to f/4.0 range. The use of triple 48-megapixel cameras, despite the pixel clustering technology, means that these cameras will inherently be able to capture 12-megapixel images.

According to the news source, the main camera of this handset has a 1-inch IMX903 sensor, and the ultra-wide module will also use a 1.3-inch IMX803 sensor. The telephoto camera is equipped with a new version of a 1/1.7-inch sensor called IMX557, which was previously used in Xperia 1 Mark 2 and Xperia 5 Mark 4 smartphones. However, the sensor used in 2 older handsets had a resolution of 12 megapixels; But now the successor model is moving towards Quad-Bayer configuration.

The Xperia Pro-I Mark 2 is also expected to be equipped with a new ISP (Image Signal Processor). Last year’s model, the Xperia Pro-I, was released in late October; Therefore, the time window mentioned in this report seems reasonable to a large extent.
