Samsung mobile unit receives all the old panels it needs from Samsung Display. Many people assume that Samsung Display will be the first to offer their best panels for Galaxy devices. Of course, this scenario has often been true until today.

Last night, Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 14 Pro series. The new handsets are equipped with a screen with a maximum brightness of 2000 nits in open spaces. Currently, such a level of brightness is not available in any of the Samsung Galaxy devices. For comparison, it is interesting to know that the Galaxy S22 Ultra with a maximum brightness of 1750 nits has the highest display brightness among Samsung devices.

Should Samsung’s mobile division be concerned about this?

For a long time now, Apple has been getting the panels of its old iPhones from Samsung Display, and this is a common phenomenon. Other display manufacturing companies compete with each other to attract production orders. However, Samsung Display is the only manufacturer that is able to provide panels with the quality and volume required by Apple iPhones.

However, Apple applies special policies regarding the supply chain of its products. In fact, this company does not just buy pre-manufactured panels from Samsung Display; Rather, it cooperates with this Korean company in order to produce more suitable display panels for its gadgets.

Although Samsung Display is a part of Samsung’s business holding; But it is still considered an independent business. Apple releases a large number of iPhones every year; Therefore, this issue means significant income flowing into the pocket of Samsung Display. Now the question arises as to why Samsung display does not completely solve Apple’s need; While the company’s income from the sale of display panels to Apple will probably be more than the company’s income from the sale of Galaxy S22 Ultra screens.

In any case, this phenomenon shows that the display panels used in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series flagships next year will probably have a maximum brightness of 2000 nits or higher. But will this concern the Samsung mobile unit about selling higher quality panels to the American competitor?

In response, it should be stated that this is probably not the case; Because Samsung does not have a product that can directly compete with Apple’s new iPhones in the second six months of the year. Currently, fans of the Samsung Galaxy S series are eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the Galaxy S23 series next year. Undoubtedly, these gadgets will have better technical specifications compared to the Galaxy S22 series. Samsung has now launched its foldable phones for the second six months of the year, and even after 1000 days since the launch of the Korean giant’s first foldable phone, Apple has yet to release a product in response.
