Google doesn’t release sales data for its smartphones, and analysts rarely do. However, today it is known that the search giant has managed to sell 27.6 million smartphones from this family since the launch of the first devices of the Pixel series.
Unfortunately, there is no information regarding the sale of Nexus smartphones. However, the first Pixel phone was released in 2016; So now we’re talking about a 6-year time window. However, the 27.6 million handsets sold by Google over a period of 6 years is almost one-tenth of Samsung’s annual sales of smartphones.
One of the journalists of the Bloomberg news agency published these statistics based on the data provided by the IDC research institute; It has been concluded that it will take Google 60 years to reach Samsung’s position. Of course, this comparison is incorrect; Because the dynamic nature of sales is always changing, and in this regard, Google has succeeded in increasing the sales of its handsets in recent years. Of course, from a quantitative point of view, Google is not among Samsung’s competitors.
As a reminder, it should be noted that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones will be officially introduced today (October 14).
