After the release of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 smartphone and the publication of evaluation reports of this product by various media, now a famous YouTube tester with the ID JerryRigEverything has conducted a durability test on the new Samsung foldable phone. The structure and structural integrity of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 remains unchanged from the Galaxy Z Fold 3; With the difference that the new handset uses the Victus Plus cover instead of the Victus Gorilla Glass protective cover for its external display.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is still water resistant thanks to its IPX8 certification, and its internal display is still protected by a plastic cover. The Victus Plus Gorilla Glass protective cover did not have any additional scratch resistance; Because the external display of the handset was still scratched at level 6 of the mouse hardness scale, and these scratches became much deeper at level 7.

At the same time, the internal display of the phone is still soft enough that Samsung warns users to avoid pressing their fingernails too much on it; Because nails can cause permanent symptoms in this area. Selecting level 2 of the mouse hardness scale caused permanent marks on the internal display. Exposing both internal and external displays to the flame of a lighter revealed permanent burn marks on them. Also, by dragging the razor on different parts of the phone body, scratches were created in all parts. Immersion of Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the sand caused dust on both sides of the hinge of this handset. Also, after several times of opening and closing the device, the hinge survived the attempt to crush the sand.

Finally, by carrying out the bending test, it was found that it is difficult to bend the body of the machine in the closed state. Also, trying to bend the display of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the open position did not change much in the appearance of the device. So Samsung’s new foldable smartphone came out of JerryRigEverything’s durability test with flying colours.
