After Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fold, it was time for the Galaxy Z Flip to hit the market as the second foldable Samsung smartphone.
Fold-able phones have become one of the main focus of smartphone manufacturers over the last year. As the world’s largest smartphone maker, accustomed to testing ideas for marketable products, Samsung has adopted the same policy for the fold-able handset and unveiled its second fold-able smartphone during the unpacked event. The Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung’s second flagship phone in the last year with a fold-able display, has been unveiled to erase the bitter memories of the Galaxy Fold. The Galaxy Fold had problems after being released for review.
The Galaxy Z Flip is designed with a form factor that resembles traditional folding phones. But inside it is not a physical keyboard and a display, but a fold-able integrated display. The display used on the Galaxy Z is a 6.7-inch flip-flop with a 21:9 ratio available when the phone is unlocked. The interesting thing about the Galaxy Z Flip is that there is no cut in the display. That’s not the only display on Galaxy Z Flip, of course, the Koreans have mounted a 1.01-inch display with the idea that the user should not open the phone to get general information. Both displays are of the same type. The larger internal display has a resolution of 2636 × 1080 pixels, and the size of the external and smaller displays is 300 × 116 pixels.

The interesting thing about the Galaxy Z Flip relates to the intelligent capabilities that the user can use when it’s closed. For example, when a notification is displayed on the external display to the user, it can be clicked on to display the user-related application associated with the received notification as soon as the phone is unlocked. The 1.01-inch display can also act as a camera viewfinder.
At the heart of the Galaxy Z Flip is a Snapdragon 855 Plus chip that comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Samsung has a dual camera on the back of the phone, which includes a 12-megapixel sensor with a wide lens next to another 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens. Also worth mentioning is the 10-megapixel F/2.4 aperture camera as a selfie camera.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip’s hinge
The hinge is certainly the most important part of a foldable display Samsung uses a fiber-based structure in the hinge that has minimized the possibility of dust penetration, as Samsung claims. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip also has a three-stage hinged , which also allows the phone to be positioned in 90 degrees. For example, using this feature, the Galaxy Z Flip can be positioned on a flat surface and easily captured. In this case, the Galaxy Z Flip is more like a laptop on the surface. According to information provided by Samsung at the time of its unveiling, the Galaxy Z Flip Hinge is able to withstand up to 200,000 times of opening and closing and works well.
Samsung has partnered with Google to deliver the best user experience in terms of software, and has developed a Flex Mode that divides the 6.7-inch display into two 4-inch displays. The Flex Mode interface is optimized for watching videos on YouTube or images.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear Flip is priced at $ 1380 and will go on sale on February 14.
