Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 generation 2 chip will be equipped with a very high frequency core

It’s almost time to unveil Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chip. Therefore, it is quite natural to publish frequent rumors about this semiconductor. The latest information about this chip has been published by a famous whistleblower with the ID Digital Chat Station. This information shows that Qualcomm will probably unveil 2 separate versions of the Snapdragon 8 generation 2 chip.

The standard version will be sold as usual; But the other model will probably have a very high processing frequency. Currently, the main core of Qualcomm’s 1st generation Snapdragon 8 Plus chip operates at a frequency of 3.19 GHz. The top model of Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip is expected to be at least 3.4 to 3.5 GHz.

It is expected that the 2 different versions of Qualcomm’s upcoming chip will be quite similar to each other. But after some time, the company will optimize the chip and release a version with a much higher processing frequency. The report also notes that GPU performance will also experience significant improvement. According to rumors, the 2nd generation Snapdragon 8 chip will be manufactured based on TSMC’s 4nm process. Also, this chip will provide the processing power of dozens of flagship smartphones, including iQOO 11.

Finally, the whistleblower notes that MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity series chip will see a significant leap in CPU performance. This phenomenon can potentially increase the performance gap between Dimensity and Snapdragon chips.
