Mercedes-Benz luxury SUV was introduced + picture gallery


Mercedes-Benz SUVs were considered luxury goods for buyers in the past several decades, and there is no reason to reduce the attractiveness of these types of cars with the introduction of electric cars. In fact, this program has been a part of the company’s car electrification strategy because one of the first cars of this SUV model was the EQC based on the GLC.

As the name of this car suggests, the Mercedes-Benz 2024 is a crossover of the EQE sedan, based on the design of the EVA2, as well as the larger EQS sedan and EQS SUV. Now four of its models, EQE 350+, 350 4Matic and 500 and Mercedes AMG EQE SUV are available in the markets. This crossover, like its larger version, the EQS SUV, is built in the Alabama plant. The American market will be the first country to unveil this car in the first months of the new year.


It has rivals like the eco-friendly Tesla Model Y, the new BMW iX, and the Audi E-Tron to contend with. It can be tough competition even for a popular SUV. But Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV can be proud of this competition with its good features.

The modular electric design of the EQE SUV allows the car to ride on a 119.3-inch wheelbase with a length of 191.5 inches. Although the EQE sedan can’t compete with this crossover’s overall height of 66.4 inches, it is longer than both. There are curved ridges on the EQE SUV’s roofline.

Although the EQE SUV shares a lot of similarities with its predecessors, such as the glossy black grille panel and Edison taillights, it looks much more ordinary. The top of the car is not tapered like the EQS SUV, and the hood is flatter than the EQE and EQS sedans. Although the sides of the body have subtle protrusions in the rear, they are mostly smooth. But this car looks good overall and its casual appearance makes it very popular in the markets.

It has a 90.6 kWh battery, which of course, the EQE sedan also had the same battery. According to Mercedes’ estimates, the longest-range EQE SUV can travel 550 km (342 miles) on an optimistic WLTP scale. EPA can also go about 300 miles. This ratio in sedan is equivalent to 660 km according to the aerodynamic height. With all these interpretations, the EQE SUV, like other products of this company, uses 170 kW DC fast charging, which can be charged from 10 to 80% in 32 minutes. Even with a 240V home charger, you can expect a 10-100% charge in 9.5 hours.

The EQE 350+ SUV has a 288-horsepower, 417-pound-feet electric motor mounted in the rear, while the EQE 350 4Matic adds a motor in the front. Because this car has four-wheel drive, power must be kept the same to deliver 564 pound-feet of torque. The EQE 500 SUV has all-wheel drive, dual-engines with better performance, 536 horsepower and 633 lb-ft. Both the single-engine EQE 350+ SUV and EQE 500 SUV have the same amount of torque as the EQE sedan, but more power, which is a bit odd.

If you are looking for power, Mercedes AMG EQE SUV can be the right option for you. This car has unique electric motors connected to special AMG inverters; It has a power equivalent to 617 hp and 701 lb-ft, which can be increased to 677 hp and 737 lb-ft in the optional AMG variant. In this case, the EQE SUV is capable of reaching 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, otherwise the car can reach a top speed of 130 mph in 3.7 seconds.

The sports version of the EQE SUV comes with Airmatic suspension. It uses 48V active sway bars to counteract body roll in corners. The AMG EQE SUV is the first electric vehicle to benefit from this technology. In this way, one of our main problems is solved. Even the EQS AMG sedan has the same problem in bad corners. Brakes are six-piston front and single-piston rear calipers, though if you plan to take this 5,900-pound car to the track, you’ll need to add the carbon composite front rotor option.

This car has 21-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires with less grip but more efficient are installed in the car. The standard 9.0-degree rear steering can also provide better cornering and reduce the turning circle to a small car-sized 35.8 feet.

The vertical lines on the front panel are similar to the AMG version of the gasoline engine, and the front and rear bumpers are boldly shaped to channel the wind around. The EQE SUV’s interior features firmer front seats and premium upholstery including leather and Alcantara. An AMG steering wheel, drive mode switches and selectors are also offered.

If you have used the EQE sedan for a while, the AMG cabin and standard EQE long chassis will bring you the same familiar feeling. In the cabin, a 12.8-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster are standard. The Hyperscreen design and glass dashboard replace the central screen with a 17.7-inch unit, bringing a 12.3-inch touchscreen to passengers. This is the first time that a car owner can upload their own image to an EQ product to use as wallpaper when the display is not in use. The AMG infotainment system includes performance-oriented trim and additional displays on both standard and Hyperscreen models.

The EQE SUV’s seating is much more comfortable than other sedans. In the rear space, 1.3 inches more space has been created, which makes a total of 39.3 inches. The seat also goes backwards for the comfort of more passengers. The designers of this car have even thought about passengers who struggle with claustrophobia! The rear windows of the car are slightly taller and squarer.

Rear trunk space is an improvement over the EQE sedan, but it still lags behind the competition. At 18.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, the EQE SUV lags behind rivals like the Tesla Model Y (30.2 cubic feet), the BMW iX (35.5 cubic feet) and the Audi E-Tron (27.2 cubic feet). If you fold down all the seats, you get 59.2 cubic feet of space, which is less than all but the Audi E-Tron.

The first EQE SUVs may arrive in the 350+, 350 4Matic and 500 4Matic models in the first half of the new year. The Mercedes AMG EQE SUV is also scheduled to enter the market a few months later. We do not know about the prices yet. But expect prices to start around $75,000 and go up to $120,000 for the AMG variant.

Although the box space is small, it is better in terms of performance, charging speed and range. The AMG model is faster than the Tesla Model Y, the BMW iX M60 and the Audi E-Tron S. Even now that most of the cars are electric, all this is enough for these products to be considered luxury SUVs.
