In addition, the new chip supports quad cameras and 4K HDR video recording.
The central processor used in the Dimensity 1080 5G chip is equipped with 2 Arm Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.6 GHz and 6 Arm Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 2.0 GHz. The GPU is Arm Mali-G68. This chip supports LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal memory. Also, Dimensity 1080 5G is manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm process.
According to forecasts, the first smartphones equipped with the Dimensity 1080 5G chip will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2022.
