Mazda CX-60 SUV enters the markets with new engine features

When Mazda introduced the CX-60 in March, it unveiled new features such as a plug-in hybrid configuration plus a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor with 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.

In the continuation of this company, a diesel engine with a power of 251 horsepower, six cylinders of 3.3 liters and a torque of 404 pounds per foot was also introduced to the markets. It should be noted that the Australian version of this device has both of these models.

All this aside, it will have a petrol engine with the same 3.3-liter six-cylinder body, a 48-volt hybrid system as an oil burner.

But making light and heavy these numbers doesn’t seem very interesting. The gas engine, newly developed by Mazda, has only 280 horsepower between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm, while the maximum torque of 331 pound-feet comes from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm.

These numbers are lower compared to the M139L engine that AMG used in the C63. The German sedan/wagon has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 476 horsepower and 402 lb-ft.

However, there is an explanation for why the six-cylinder engine makes less than 300 horsepower. One is that maybe it is due to the emission laws or that the 3.3-liter part has been separated on purpose; It may have been for reassurance and lower fuel consumption.

In an interview with the CarExpert news agency, one of the people of Mazda company in Australia said that this engine with various features will be available in the SUV version of this model which is sold in the United States called CX-70. This engine will also be in the larger three-row model, the CX-90.

Probably, this model will appear more powerful in North America and it should be seen whether the type of fuel will be different or not; As it was different in Mazda 3 Turbo. The introduction of six-cylinder engines is a bit of a shock because most car companies prefer small sizes in cars to reduce emissions.
