The Chrome Unboxed website has recently managed to identify an unannounced Chromebook gaming device from the Lenovo brand, named IdeaPad 5, on the company’s product specification reference website. Therefore, it seems that Lenovo will soon launch its gaming-oriented Chromebooks.
According to the list of published specifications, this product is comparable to the Chromebook iPad 5i; The model that was introduced earlier in August. However, the new device has features that will probably be of interest to gamers.
This Chromebook uses a frame similar to the one used for the iPad 5i. The 16-inch screen of this device has QHD resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and 100% coverage of the sRGB color space. The communication features of iPad 5 include Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6. Also, the ports used in this model include two USB-C connectors, two USB-A ports, an audio jack and a microSD card reader.
However, there are some distinguishing factors between the above two models. The full-size keyboard has RGB backlighting; While the sound system consists of 4 speakers of 2 watts and the right side of the metal screen cover is decorated with a traditional pattern.

The base model of the iPad 5 uses the same Core i3-1215U processor as the iPad 5i; While the more powerful model of this Chromebook is available to buyers with i5-1235U processor and Iris Xe graphics processor. In terms of memory configuration, users have access to only one option including 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of NVMe SSD storage space.
Considering that there is no mention of a dedicated GPU in the iPad 5 specification list; Therefore, it seems that these devices are designed to play games through services such as Amazon Luna, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
