Apple has made it possible to use FaceTime and make video calls to other platforms like Android and Windows. This means that users can finally use FaceTime on Android.
Android and Windows users can now use FaceTime as a call recipient. For Android users, it is not possible to download the FaceTime app from Google Play, but there is video calling capability in it.

Use FaceTime on Android
To use FaceTime on Android, you need a supported browser, such as Google Chrome, and the person initiating the call on your iOS or iPadOS or macOS device. iPhone and iPad users running iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 or later can open the FaceTime app and select the Create Link button at the top of the screen.

The invitation link can be sent in any way you want for the Android user to use.

To send the invitation link via Mac, iPhone or iPad, if the caller is using macOS 12, iOS 15, or iPadOS 15 and newer, they can find the Create Link button at the top of the app and then share the link with Android as desired.

After that, as an Android user, you will receive a link in the form of facetime.apple.com from the caller.

Open the invitation link on your Android phone or tablet with Google Chrome browser. At the time of writing, the only browser supported for this is Google Chrome. In the box that you see, enter your name and tap Continue.

Then, from the toolbar at the top of the screen, tap Join.

Before you can join a video call, the caller must first confirm your request. Once logged in, you will have the usual video conferencing control options at the top of the screen. These options include showing the video in full screen, mute the microphone, show or hide the video, return the camera, and more.

What you see is a kind of Android version of FaceTime. Click the Leave button to end the call.

This is probably not what we had in mind for FaceTime for Android, but the minimum call quality is largely desirable.
