A newly released source code of Google’s Pixel 7 series suggests that the search giant may be working on developing a small-screen flagship smartphone. This handset will probably be launched under the brand name Pixel 7 Mini. Earlier, a well-known Chinese whistleblower had hinted at the existence of a smaller pixel device.

Also, the mentioned piece of code contains details about the rumored folding pixel device known as Pixel Fold. According to the Notebookcheck website, the latest source code belonging to the Pixel 7 series discovered by a developer named Kuba Wojciechowski; Contains references to the company’s 2 upcoming devices codenamed Felix and Lynx.

Reports suggest that the Felix ID belongs to the Pixel Fold phone; A gadget that has been rumored for a long time. Also, the code name Lynx belongs to the third device of the Pixel 7 series called Pixel 7 Ultra or Pixel 7 Mini. However, the names of these devices have not been officially confirmed yet.

Examining the published code snippet shows that the device codenamed Lynx will be equipped with ultra-wide and selfie cameras with Sony’s IMX712 sensor. Also, this device instead of using BCM4389 Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip which is used in Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 phones; It will use Qualcomm’s WCN6740 chip.

In addition, the display panel used by the Lynx device will be similar to the one used in some Pixel phones such as Pixel 7, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a. Although the initial rumors mentioned the launch of the Pixel 7 Ultra with a 2K display; But this gadget will only use a screen with a resolution of 1080p. It seems that the display panel used for the Pixel 7 Ultra will be weaker compared to the one found in the Pixel 7 Pro. This means that the Lynx codename will most likely belong to the Pixel 7 Mini.

Currently, very limited details have been released about the rumored Pixel 7 Mini; To the extent that even regarding the development of such a device, it is not possible to comment with certainty. The Lynx ID could also belong to the affordable Pixel 7a. Undoubtedly, in the future, we will see the release of more details about the nature of this gadget.
