Android 13, a minor update from Google, is finally out. You might say this change is minor, but it is compared to the massive changes of Android 12 and Google’s policies to improve its apps.
Android 13 acts like a tweaker on a mobile phone, so it’s worth getting excited about.
Flip phone and tablet owners will benefit the most from this update, especially with the new Material You feature that allows people to personalize their Android phone. There is not much else to say about Android 13, but it must be said that this kind of update is very infrastructural and its value will be fully evident several months after its release.
Regarding the release time, it should be said that Google released Android 13 in August, and the first phones to receive it will be the Pixel, followed by Samsung and Oppo a little later. Next, you can see when this Android will be activated on your mobile phone.
Which phones will get the Android 13 update?
Although not all smartphone manufacturers have announced Android 13 access plans yet, we expect the release of this update to be similar to its predecessors, Android 12, Android 11 and others. Google’s Pixel smartphones were among the first to receive the update, followed by Samsung, which enabled the new update on its smartphones, and other companies will follow in the coming months.
According to Google, Samsung Galaxy, Asus, Nokia (HMD), Motorola, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, Vivo, Xiaomi and other companies will release their own updates soon, though most of them have no specific time frame. Not for publication.
Google has announced that all Pixel smartphones from the Pixel 4 will receive Android 13; That is, the Pixel 4, 4XL, 4a, 4a 5G devices, as well as the Pixel 5 and 5T series and the Pixel 6, 6a and 6 Pro flagships. The Pixel 3a and 3a XL devices have received the final update, while the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will arrive with Android 13. Google announced on August 24 (August 15) that Android 13 will be available for all the mentioned Pixels, which marked the start of updates.
Getting the Android 13 update on Samsung phones will come in the form of One UI 5. The latest version of Android on Samsung phones comes with features like the extended lock screen and Modes, which use iOS 16’s screen lock feature and focus mode, respectively.
Samsung has all the features of Android 13, including the Material you customization mode and the new privacy and security feature. To answer calls by text, a new feature called Bixby Tell has been created. Although Samsung has said that this feature is expected to enter the markets in 2023.
Samsung hasn’t released the update yet, but the S22, S21, and S20 smartphones will receive the beta version. Before the new year, this Android will be fully released for A53, Fold 3, Z Flip 4, Z Flip 3, S22, S21, Z Fold 4 and Z models. All S and A models released in the last four years should then receive this update. As we said above, tablets and foldable phones will benefit the most from this update.
Nokia or HMD Global is not a company that has done well in the past in releasing updates for its Android phones, but now it is testing this Android developer for the Nokia XR20. We expect this update to keep the model up-to-date until next year. After clarifying the company’s plans, other models will be added to the list of models that will receive this Android.
Xiaomi and Realme
Xiaomi is now testing Android 13 on the Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and MiPad 5. Similarly, Realme has a beta program for its GT 2 Pro version, but it has not yet released a complete list of all models. We expect this list to be published in the coming weeks.
